12th Annual Pumpkin Run
Saturday, October 16
Southeast Ohio
|
Greetings, ZBimmers!
You can tell by the
changing colors that Fall is upon us and
that can only mean one thing. It’s time
for the 12th Annual Pumpkin
Run! Polish the buggy and join Dave and
Pam Fisher, your leaders for this
traditional event when ZBimmers become
Pumpkin Runners!
Here’s an overview of the
day.
The Pumpkin Run will start at
10:00 AM from
Gulliver's
Travel Plaza at 2320 Faircrest Street,
south of Canton at Exit 101 off I-77
South, 330.484.8400. After brief runs
south on I-77 and Rt 250, we drop onto
Rt 800, making our way to Barnesville
(home of the Fighting Shamrocks) for a
rest stop at Maison de Ronald.
Then we're off on side roads and into
some of the most scenic/twisty
pavement in Ohio. Although he is
reluctant to take credit for it, we
thank Dennis Perry for suggesting a
particular portion of the route. Leave
it to a New Yorker to find great roads
in Ohio!! Sadly, this segment of the
Pumpkin Run ends
at
Ristorante di McDonald in Woodsfield.
Next, we head back up Rt 800 (with a
possible scenic detour if time permits)
to New Philly for an early dinner (or
late lunch depending on your
perspective)
about 4:00 PM at
Hog Heaven.
After Hog Heaven, you're on your own to
jump on the freeway for home or continue
on side
roads to your final destination.
Even Heaven requires an RSVP, so please
send Dave an email at
dwfisher@windstream.net
by Thursday, Oct 14, with the number in
your party.
Here's the standard
boilerplate for The 12th
Annual Pumpkin Run. Please join us for
the entire trip or just the part that's
convenient for you. Bring along all the
Zs that you can find. Dress
appropriately for the temperature
because we drive regardless of weather.
Don't forget sunscreen and sun glasses
if it's bright. Have a full tank of gas
to start the drive. Bring your
Talkabouts tuned to channel 7,5. Be
sure the camera has batteries or film.
Remember your tank of gas donation for
Make A Wish. Contributions now total
$24,127! Do visit
zbimmers.org
for information and history of our
adventures.
Looking forward to seeing all you
Pumpkin Runners on the 16th and driving
a few more miles together!
Dave, Pam and Cindy
