Greetings, ZBimmers!

August will find the Z’s at Mid-Ohio on August 7 for the American LeMans Series and one of Ohio’s biggest motorsports weekend! No, we’re not competing - at least, not this year – but we’ll join with BMW CCA enthusiasts from several chapters to watch BMW race for first place as the series enters its final stretch of the season. Dave and Pam Fisher will lead a convoy from Medina to Mid-Ohio to make sure you get to the track in time for all the action. The BMW CCA chapters will have a corral and hospitality tent with food and door prizes to make your day even more memorable!

There are 3 things to do for the ZBimmer outing to Mid-Ohio.

[1] Purchase your tickets for the race at Mid-Ohio tickets before August 4. The cost is $80 for one person and $65 for your passenger (since they only charge one parking fee per car). The ticket includes general admission, reserved grandstand seating, paddock pass, pit access pass and reserved infield parking!

[2] Get your ticket for the BMW CCA corral and hospitality tent at motorsportreg.com. The $20 ticket includes lunch and a chance to win lots of door prizes. Did I mention there is also a big screen TV in the tent, so you won’t miss any of the action?

[3] Let Dave know by the 3rd that you’ll be convoying with him from Medina (dwfisher@windstream.net). The departure is 8 AM from Denny’s Restaurant, 3105 Medina Road, Medina, 330.723.1600.

Of course, the day can be ala carte, too. You can meet Dave at the track (7721 Steam Corners Road, Lexington, OH, 800.643.6446) and/or park with the masses and/or grab some track food for lunch.

Here's the standard boilerplate for the ALMS event at Mid-Ohio. Please join us for the entire trip or just the part that's convenient for you. Bring along all the Z's that you can find. Dress appropriately for the temperature because we drive regardless of weather. Don't forget sunscreen and sun glasses if it's bright. Have a full tank of gas to start the drive. Bring your Talkabouts tuned to channel 7,5. Be sure the camera has batteries or film. Remember your tank of gas donation for Make A Wish. Contributions now total $22,406!
