NEW UPDATE (05/09/10)
As you may already know, Rich discovered a glitch (read as massive, incomplete road construction) at the Yough Plaza where we have room reservations for May 15. Rather than subject us to less-than-hospitable pavement and off-site parking situations, Rich has changed hotels and even saved us some money in the process!
Please make new reservations for Saturday, May 15, at The Lodge at Chalk Hill (www.thelodgeatchalkhill.com), Route 40 East, Chalk Hill, PA 15421, 800.833.4283 or 724.438.8880. The rate of $76.30 with tax also includes a continental breakfast. Rich said the hotel does have car wash capabilities, so bring your favorite shampoo and washing implements. Sally, I also understand that this hotel is pet-friendly.
Once your reservations are made at The Lodge at Chalk Hill, cancel your original ones at Yough Plaza, 800.992.7238. Rich says we’ll be driving past the Yough Plaza and you’ll realize what a good idea it was to change hotels!
The starting location for the Ohio contingent of the Laurel Highlands Weekender will be Gulliver's travel Plaza at 2320 2320 Faircrest Street, south of Canton at Exit 101 off I-77 South, 330.484.8400. Be prepared for an 8:00 AM departure time. Rich made arrangements to meet the others at a different location in Pennsylvania. As you know, the weekend will include a tour of Falling Waters. Please confirm or re-confirm your intentions with Rich (rlipchip@aol.com) if you are interested in doing the tour. We're close to the deadline for finalizing the payment and need an accurate count.

Rich Lipchik is organizing our Laurel Highlands Weekender on May 15-16. He’s already made the room arrangements and all you have to do is call in your reservations for Saturday, the 15th.
We’ll be staying inside the Ohiopyle State Park at the Yough Plaza Motel, 28 Sherman Street, Ohiopyle, PA, 800.992.7238.
The Yough Plaza Motel is the closest lodging to the rafting and it fills up quickly in prime rafting season. The ZBimmer block of rooms are only on hold for 10 days because it is such a popular location. Reservations can be canceled until 3 days prior to arrival if you’re unsure of your schedule right now.
The room charge is $98.10. Or, if you want to book a 2-bedroom suite with a shared bath (which may work since we're all related), the price is $176.58. The reservations are under ZBimmers but it may be useful to mention Rich Lipchik’s name.
Kindly let Rich know once you've made your reservations. Accurate counts make for the best plans!
