Cheap wine, Fast cars

Sunday, May 18

NE Ohio

Greetings, ZBimmers!

Come out on Sunday, May 18, to enjoy Cheap Wine, Fast Cars, developed by the Portage Lakes Pilots, aka Norm & Deb Belliveau and Scott & Becky Shookman.

If you need more enticement than just an intriguing name, here’s how they describe the day.  We’ll meander thru the farm country twisties, visit the frog jumping capital of the WORLD (since it is an Olympian year), pass thru Ohio’s Grand Canyon, stop at a beach cottage for a little refreshment, tour one of the oldest lighthouses on the Great Lakes and enjoy a late lunch while listening to a jazz band at a winery that’s been bottling since 1870.

Cheap Wine, Fast Cars will leave at 9 AM from Denny’s, 3105 Medina Road, Medina (330.722.1600) – the historical Homecoming launch pad.  And if you haven't already guessed, we’ll end about 2 PM at the Mon Ami Restaurant and Historic Winery, 3845 East Wine Cellar Road, Port Clinton (419.797.4445 or 800.777.4266, monamiwinery.com).  Swing City is the jazz band playing at Mon Ami on the 18th.

And here's the standard boilerplate for Cheap Wine, Fast Cars.  Please join us for the entire trip or just the part that's convenient for you.  Bring along all the Z's that you can find.  Dress appropriately for the temperature because we drive regardless of weather.  Don't forget sunscreen and sun glasses if it's bright.  Have a full tank of gas to start the drive.  Bring your Talkabouts tuned to channel 7,5.  Be sure the camera has batteries or film.  Remember your tank of gas donation for Make A Wish.
