8th Annual Pumpkin Run
Sunday October 8th
Northwest PA
|
Greetings, ZBimmers!
The 2006 driving season is coming to an end but that also means that the 8th Annual Pumpkin Run is upon us! The Hansel clan (John, Joyce, Gary and Pam), in collaboration with Rich Lipchik, has planned Z Fall Leaf Tour to Northwestern PA for your Drive and Eat pleasure on Sunday, October 8. In addition to cruising twisty, mountain roads amid brightly colored leaves, there will be lookout points, national scenic by-ways and wine tasting along the way. You might even catch a glimpse of the local eagles, ospreys and hawks if you’re lucky!
The 8th Annual Pumpkin Run / Z Fall Leaf Tour will depart at 8:30 AM from the Cracker Barrel Restaurant at the SW corner of I-76 and SR 44 (Exit 38). The address is 4367 SR 44, Rootstown and the phone is 330.325.9970.
There will be some freeway traveling before heading north into the higher elevations and most interesting roads of the Allegheny Mountains. After lunch in Warren, PA, the ZBimmers will visit the scenic Kinzua Dam area. After cruising the by-ways and enjoying the magnificent vistas of NW PA, there will be a brief wine tasting at the Foxburg Inn (Visit Foxburg, PA), followed by dinner about 5 PM. The address for the restaurant is 40 Main Street, Foxburg PA 16036 and their phone is 724.659.5701. The 8th Annual Pumpkin Run / Z Fall Leaf Tour will return to the Cracker Barrel point of departure about 8:00 PM.
Here's the standard boilerplate for the 8th Annual Pumpkin Run / Z Fall Leaf Tour. Please join us for the entire trip or just the part that's convenient for you. Bring along all the Zs that you can find. Dress appropriately for the temperature because we drive regardless of weather. Don't forget sunscreen and sun glasses if it's bright. Have a full tank of gas to start the drive. Bring your Talkabouts tuned to channel 7,5. Be sure the camera has batteries or film. Remember your tank of gas donation for Make A Wish. Since it’s so much more enjoyable to drive in the bright sunshine, please help the Weathermeister by focusing on favorable conditions!
The Hansels, Rich and I are looking forward to seeing everyone (and all those beautiful fall leaves). See you on the 8th!
