KENNVOY 2006

Update!  08/22/06

Hello Cindy

And thank you for the note.  I have been following, with growing fascination, the progress of the "Kennvoy" ! - I blush bright crimson every time I mention this.  But everyone here, including Prof. Schmitz-Justen, thinks it's a wonderful name and it has brought smiles to all of our faces.  It took some doing, but I feel quite sure that I, and a few others of us, will be able to join the group in Alcoa (and I presume you mean Tennessee, not Texas) for the drive through the Dragon and over the mountain to Homecoming.  Our very special guest for the weekend is arriving on Wednesday evening at the Charlotte airport and I need to pick him up and get him securely here.  That means, our little group will leave here early Thursday morning for the rendezvous with you.  Now, the one thing I don't have is a phone number for you.  Can you send this to me today so we can talk and work out the details?  And I thank you for that.  The Professor unfortunately will be flying to Munich on Wednesday (the 30th) and will not be able to join us for the drive, but he is flying back Friday so we will have him for most of the weekend, next best thing.

O.K.  I look forward to your reply and talking with you and we'll get everything finalized.

All the best,

Kenn

Cindy it is marvelous to hear from you!  And yes, you guys have been busy while I've been away !!  Nothing like some serious pressure, but this is a good thing.  Your plans sound wonderful and I'll be back in touch soon about all this.  As you might imagine the month before Homecoming gets quite intense and then there are the things we can't talk about yet, but will soon be revealed.   The Professor is in Germany right now and we'll be talking as soon as he returns in a few days.  For those who go back far enough to remember Dr. Norbert Reithofer, he was last at Homecoming '99, and was our president at the time - Norbert is the new Chairman of the Board of the BMW Group and he starts his new job on September 1st, the first day of Homecoming.  We're very proud of him!

Now, on to the business of this great company of ours.  I'll be touch soon.  My very best wishes to all of the ZBimmers and especially to those who will join the Kennvoy! (I'm blushing now - it's good you can't see my face !!)

Hi Cindy...

It's great to hear from you and I certainly haven't forgotten about the challenge.  Today I'm off to Munich for two weeks of business and when I get back we'll start firming up plans.  I really hope that I can be with you and possibly bring Prof. Schmitz-Justen with me.  You guys are much in my thoughts.  I'll be back in touch in July.

All the best,

Kenn

As you may remember, Kenn Sparks challenged the ZBimmers to have a 50 Z convoy from Alcoa into Greenville.  If we get 50, he'll join us for the trip, including the Dragon, and maybe even bring along Dr. President.  I know we can get at least 50 Zs together.  Please let me know your convoy plans, so we can ensure Kenn has plenty of notice that he'll be driving with us to HC06!
