North American International Auto Show

Detroit, Michigan

Sunday January 11th

Back by popular demand, Dave Fisher is organizing another bus trip to the Detroit Car Show on Jan 11.  This is absolutely the best way to see the show without any hassle.  Guaranteed!  Just send Dave $40 before Dec 24 to reserve your seat, then sit back and relax.

Northeast Ohio -- in early January -- is the pits!  It’s just about as far away from “let’s drop the top and take a nice cruise “ as you can get.  We might have just the antidote for those winter doldrums.

The Second Annual Bus Trip to….

NORTH AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW

-- a.k.a. the Detroit Auto Show, the premier automotive event in this country.

Back by popular demand, we’re putting together another bus trip to Detroit. We have reserved a Chris Bangle-inspired “battleship of the highway” to whisk you away  to Motown.

Date – Sunday, January 11, 2004

Schedule – The bus leaves from the north side parking lot of the Hudson Holiday Inn on Route 8 at the Ohio Turnpike in Boston Heights, Ohio, (why is the Hudson Holiday Inn in Boston Heights?) at  8:00 a.m. SHARP  and journeys to Detroit. Show up at 8:02 and you run the risk of not finding a bus. Arrival at Cobo Hall scheduled for 11:15-ish.

Spend the day admiring those marvelous machines, drooling on select models (cars too), comparing the new models to our precious “first rides”, plotting to convince the spouse you just gotta have something or other..…..  and going to a city that makes Cleveland look like a nice place in January!

We’ll leave Cobo Hall at 5:00 p.m. SHARP and arrive back in Hudson around  8:00 pm.

Cost - $40.00 per person -- includes the ticket to the show (a stocking stuffer perhaps?)

Because the exact cost is dependent upon the number of folks going, any overages will be donated to the Cleveland/Akron area Make-a-Wish Foundation.

vo     Bring a spouse, significant other, friend or all of them.

(or put one of those folks on the bus and get them out of town for a day!)

vo                 Even if you aren’t driving the Bimmer to Boston Hts., bring the key – last year BMW had a special area – admission with your key – to set a spell, have a Pepsi and talk to friends. I suspect they will do the same this year.

vo                 I’m afraid we have to limit this event to those who look to be over 14 years old.

vo                 Any food or beverages, spirits etc., before, during, or after are your responsibility.

vo                 Some folks even snuck away to the Greektown Casino for a taste of a another type of  spinning wheels, but that is entirely up to you.  What happens in Detroit stays in Detroit.  Remember, if you get on a hot streak, the bus waits for NO ONE.
